ReBloom facilitated $670M in transactions and turned profitable. Nobody in the press wanted the story

Camilla Molina Nysum, founder and CEO of ReBloom, pitched a profitable fintech to the media instead of a funding round. No one bit. Here is what she wrote about it, in her own words.

This story is based on a public LinkedIn post by Camilla Molina Nysum. Quotes are taken word for word from that post. ReBloom is not listed on TrustMRR, and the figures below are Camilla's own and have not been independently verified.

Camilla Molina Nysum's LinkedIn post opens like a hundred others: "Happy to announce ReBloom just raised $5M in a new funding round."

Then the next line: "Just kidding.."

What ReBloom does

ReBloom is a platform for private market secondaries, where institutional investors buy and sell stakes in pre-IPO companies. The site describes an invite-only "dark pool" where positions and identities stay anonymous until a deal is introduced. It also offers data rooms with access control, AI tools that pull terms like liquidation preferences and ROFR out of shareholder documents, and payout waterfall models. On its LinkedIn page ReBloom says the company "was conceived from our own professional journey and experiences, in the founding team, navigating the complexities of the secondary private investment market."

The numbers

"We didn't raise new money. Instead we spent the past 12 months building a profitable fintech. $670M in transactions has been facilitated through ReBloom now."

That is transaction volume, not revenue. ReBloom has not published its revenue. Its website lists "$6B+ live supply and demand", "150+ institutional clients" and "$20M+ average transaction size."

The story nobody ran

"We pitched that story to several news media. Nobody wanted it," she writes. "No seed round. No headline."

Her point is about what counts as news. "A $5M round is newsworthy. A startup that pays its own bills and scales in a sustainable way isn't relevant."

"Think about how strange that is. A funding round means someone is betting you'll succeed one day. Revenue means customers already decided you're worth paying for. Only one of those is actual proof."

She isn't against venture money. "Venture is a great tool for some companies. But when it becomes the only story worth telling, founders learn that the press release matters more than the P&L. That's wrong in my opinion."

Not the only one

"And we're far from alone.. Across Europe, founders are building profitable companies that will never make a headline," Camilla writes. "Those are the untold startup stories. They're also the ones the next generation of founders needs to hear about."

She ends with: "So here's to the profitable startups. The ones with paying customers. The boringly healthy startups. It's time we start telling our stories ourselves."

Why it matters

Funding rounds are easy to report because there is a press release, a number and a date. Profit is quieter. ReBloom's post struck a nerve, drawing dozens of comments from founders. It's also exactly the kind of story this site exists for: a company with paying customers that the usual startup press had no slot for.
