Is this phone number real? 1Lookup answers that for $272K a month

Every sales team, call center and online store eventually runs into the same problem: a lot of the phone numbers, emails and IP addresses they collect are fake, mistyped or fraudulent. 1Lookup sells the answer to "is this real?" one lookup at a time, and it has become a large business doing it.

The numbers

On TrustMRR, 1Lookup shows $271,697 in MRR from 751 active subscriptions. All-time revenue is $5,728,373. Revenue in the last 30 days was $513,650, well above its recurring revenue, which suggests a large share of usage is paid for outside subscriptions. The revenue is verified through a Stripe API key, and the listing ranks 1Lookup #22 on TrustMRR.

The listing says 1Lookup was founded in January 2022 in the United States.

What it does

1Lookup describes itself as a tool "for validating phone, email and IP data in real time," all through one API. The website says it now offers 76 data products, from phone and email validation to IP geolocation, company enrichment and B2B prospecting, all drawing on one shared credit balance. It says verification answers come back in under 0.3 seconds.

The pricing model matches the product: "pay only for what you use," with a 7-day free trial. TrustMRR lists its audience as call centers, marketing agencies, e-commerce businesses and others that need validation and enrichment to prevent fraud and improve data quality.

Built for AI agents

The newest pitch on the 1Lookup homepage is aimed at software rather than people: "Connect 1Lookup once. Every new lead checks itself." The company offers an MCP server so tools like ChatGPT, Claude and Cursor can call its lookups directly, alongside integrations with HubSpot, Salesforce, Twilio, Zapier and others.

The founder

Robby Frank's X bio is short and unusual. It says he makes "$700K+ a month across my companies," that they are "run by 80 Claude Code agents (and me, barely)," and that he is "happily married w/ 4 kids." He has about 8,000 followers on X. 1Lookup is one of the companies he lists.

Why it matters

1Lookup is unglamorous infrastructure. Nobody shares a phone validation API with friends. But bad data costs companies money every day, and a product that quietly fixes it can grow to more than $3 million a year in recurring revenue in under five years. Its move toward AI agents also shows where usage-based APIs may grow next: not in dashboards people visit, but in tools that agents call automatically.
