The unglamorous API making $46K a month: Conductor fixes QuickBooks Desktop
Danny Nemer's Conductor shows $45,868 in Stripe-verified MRR on TrustMRR by solving one painful integration problem that bigger companies would rather avoid.

This story is based on public sources: verified revenue and the founder's statement on TrustMRR, Conductor's website and Danny Nemer's public profile on X. It is not an interview. Revenue figures were last checked on 3 November 2026.
QuickBooks Desktop is old software. It runs on Windows machines in accounting offices and warehouses. It talks to the outside world through a Web Connector, qbXML and SOAP, technologies most developers hope never to touch. It is also still used by a huge number of businesses. That gap is where Conductor makes its money.
The numbers
On TrustMRR, Conductor shows $45,868 in MRR from 307 active subscriptions, verified with a Stripe API key. All-time revenue is $507,718, and revenue in the last 30 days was $44,845. The leaderboard shows 13% month-over-month growth.
The company was founded in July 2022 in the United States. It calls itself "the best QuickBooks Desktop & Enterprise API on the planet."
What it does
Conductor gives developers real-time access to every QuickBooks Desktop object through Python, Node.js/TypeScript and REST. The listing describes the problem plainly. Conductor "abstracts away the fragility and quirks of QuickBooks Desktop, the Web Connector, qbXML, SOAP, and more."
For a fintech or vertical SaaS company whose customers keep their books in QuickBooks Desktop, the alternative is to build and maintain that integration in-house. That is slow, brittle work that has nothing to do with their core product. Conductor turns it into an API call.
Pricing reflects that value. There is a free trial, then $49 per company file per month in production, with tailored enterprise pricing above that. TrustMRR lists about 1,500 users.
In the founder's words
The listing includes a short statement from Danny Nemer:
"1. Completely runs itself 2. $350K ARR today, growing 7% month-over-month 3. Will reach $500K ARR by end of 2026 4. Enterprise customers include Ramp 5. Virtually no churn"
These are the founder's own claims. The verified MRR on the same page, $45,868, works out to about $550K annualized. That is already above the $500K target in his statement, which suggests the statement was written earlier in the year.
Conductor is also marked as for sale on TrustMRR. A business that "completely runs itself", with low churn and a single clear job, is the kind of asset that marketplace was built for.
A founder with other plans
Danny's X profile explains why the business might be for sale. His bio now lists him as co-founder of a company "building space factories", in Y Combinator's P26 batch. Conductor appears further down as a side line with "$44K MRR".
That arc is common among technical founders. Build something boring that works, automate it until it barely needs you, and use the freedom to chase something much harder.
The stack
TrustMRR lists Next.js, Tailwind CSS, React and TypeScript on the front end, with Node.js, Prisma, Redis, Express and Stripe on the back end. The codebase is about 197,000 lines.
Why it matters
Most startup stories celebrate new categories. Conductor is a reminder that some of the best businesses sit on top of old software no one else wants to deal with. Its customers are developers who would pay almost anything to stop thinking about qbXML. At $49 per company file, they pay a lot less than that, and Conductor still earns more than half a million dollars a year.
